Hegel Viking CD Player

The Hegel Viking cd play is designed to deliver the most faithful sound reproduction possible by optimising its components to deliver a high-quality output that is true to the original recording.

Bit perfect, i.e. no up scaling or down scaling. It  includes the state-of-the-art DAC. The laser head has the perfect colour wavelength optimised for CD; i.e. not a general wavelength for SACD and DVD used by many other CD players.

It includes the Sound Engine technology with it own master clock.

The name is derived from the Hegel’s origins, the ancient Norse forefathers which used long boats that was designed and perfected for their specific purpose more than 1000 years ago. CD’s may be ‘old’ but it is one of the best digital mediums available.

The Viking replaces the popular Hegel Mohican CD player that was discontinued in 2022 due to the AKM DAC ships that where no longer available. A new OLED display and aluminium chassis helps with to reduce noise to the minimum.

 The analog stage in Viking is developed specifically for this model.

The Viking is Hegel’s reference CD player in a solid aluminium chassis and ideal to pair with the P30A preamplifier and the H30A power amplifier or even any of the integrated amps. It was designed for separates to reduce distortion to the minimum.
